Nashville family sues Amazon for exploding hoverboard

A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, a brother and sister, had to jump from the second floor of their house in Nashville, Tennessee after a rising fire trapped them inside their home. The fire resulted from the explosion of a hoverboard they bought from Amazon back in January 2016.
After the accident, their parents, Brian and Meg Fox, filed a $30 million lawsuit against Amazon. They are also seeking damages for the six possessions they lost in the fire. The Foxes purchased the $274 hoverboard in November 2015 through Amazon’s third-party seller W-Deals.
