TN bill restricting sale of alcohol to repeat DUI offenders failed

The Tennessee legislature recently tried to introduce new rules that would have stopped repeat driving under the influence offenders from buying alcohol, the Tomahawk reported on April 29.

This measure was submitted by Elizabethton Representative John Holsclaw, Jr. but rejected by the House of Representatives budget subcommittee, which officially terminated its ascent through the Tennessee legislature. Despite this particular bill’s failure, its existence indicates a tough attitude held by lawmakers on drunk driving.

A Tennesse driver with a blood alcohol concentration of .08% can be charged with a DUI, as well as someone with a lower BAC in certain situations.

If you have been injured by a drunk driver, the attorneys at John Michael Bailey Abogados de lesiones may help you pursue the compensation you need to cover medical expenses and other damages from the party responsible for your accident. Call our Memphis personal injury attorneys at 888-WE-FIGHT today to learn more about taking action.
