Man charged in vehicular accident that killed one
Police authorities arrested 28-year-old Jeremy Williamson, who had been the driver of the vehicle that veered off the road, crashing into a utility pole. This occurred as the vehicle traveled along Chelsea Avenue at Oakwood Street in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, March 26 at around 6:30 p.m., resulting in the death of his passenger, 42-year-old Shannon Vaughn.
According to preliminary investigations, Williamson lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slam into a Memphis Light, Gas and Water utility pole. Williamson was later found to have been under the influence at the time of the crash.
Both Williamson and Vaughn were rushed to a nearby hospital after the accident. Vaughn passed away in the hospital due to mortal injuries; Williamson, on the other hand, sustained critical wounds. Another individual, also a passenger in Williamson’s vehicle, incurred critical injuries and was taken to Regional One Health.
