Man Charged with Vehicular Homicide after Motorcycle Crash

A man was killed in Memphis on Sunday after his motorcycle was struck by a drunk driver. The victim was 21-year-old father Christopher Kinsey III who was riding his motorcycle along Lamar Avenue when a drunk driver struck him.  The drunk driver was identified as 38-year-old Onesimo Gardea who is being charged with a number of crimes including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, no license, no registration, no insurance, reckless driving and leaving the scene of the accident.  When police eventually caught up with Gardea, they said his speech was slurred and smelled of alcohol.

The thoughts and prayers of our legal team are with the friends and family of Christopher Kinsey III. Unfortunately, tragic accidents such as these happen far too often.  At John Michael Bailey Injury Lawyers, we believe no individual should have to suffer the consequences of another negligent person’s actions. We would like to remind all drivers to be responsible at the wheel and to never drive while intoxicated.
