Man faces charges in relation to hit-and-run accident
Garcia Guerrero is facing several charges for a car accident that occurred near Elvis Presley and Brooks in Memphis, Tennessee on July 10 at around 6:02 p.m., Memphis police investigators said.
According to preliminary investigations, a person driving a 2007 Mercedes Benz north along Elvis Presley reported that he was hit by a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am on the rear of his car. When the Mercedes Benz driver left his vehicle to inspect the damage done to his car by the offending vehicle, the Grand Am sped away and continued heading north.
However, the Grand Am crashed into a utility pole about 1,300 feet north of Elvis Presley and Brooks, making it possible for police authorities to identify the driver of the vehicle who caused the earlier accident.
Guerrero is facing charges of failure to exercise due care, leaving the scene of an accident, violation of financial law, and having no drivers’ license. Directly following the accident, he was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis with serious injuries.
